Welcome to my blog. Here is the place I will write about spells, divination, herbs and the beautiful world of magick in which I reside. I recently started a website where I sell the things I make. Everything I create is a unique, one of a kind item. If you see something you like but wish it were in a different color etc simply message me and I will do my best to fulfill your request. In addition to the handmade charms and talismans I make, I also sell my services in the form of spells (which is my greatest passion) and I also provide card readings.
A bit about myself. I am just shy of half a century old. It sounds much more dramatic and interesting when stated that way. My goddess is Hecate. I am an empath but because it is such an in-depth subject and one that I am most passionate about, I will reserve this topic for its own individual blog in the very near future. I am an eclectic hedge witch. I am solitary and mostly nocturnal and the elements I work with most are definitely earth and fire. I am very much into nature. I am in tune with it, especially the animals and I love to forage for the herbs I use in my spell work. I believe that gathering and preparing your own herbs for spell work adds another layer of energy to your work. The more energy you put into your spell the more powerful that spell becomes. Most of the herbs I sell in my store have been wildcrafted by me personally. They have been treated with the loving care and respect that I feel for all life. And the plants and flowers I gather are truly loved by me and this gives them exceptional power and energy that I assure you will certainly be passed on into your own work. Of all the emotions we as humans feel love is the greatest and most powerful one of all. Far greater even than that of anger. Anger, in general, is a false emotion. Anger is the disguise that simply masks the true core emotion which tends to be fear and or pain.
I feel there are many wonderful understated and overlooked herbs that have strong magickal properties more than a little bit useful in witchcraft. Also, It is more economical to forage if you have the time to do so. There is power in those plants and flowers that grow near to your home. This is their native land and it gives them dominion and greater power over an herb that you purchase from somewhere far away even if it is that which is traditionally used. Think of how an herb came to be traditionally used. It was used by the ones who came before us. It was what they used because it was near to them. They foraged for it because it was available and worked well for them. But then consider this: what if another herb, the one growing native to you, was at that time available to the ones who came before us. Would it now be the tradition instead? The “traditional” herbs in a large part became tradition simply because of proximity. So do not be hesitant to veer away from so called tradition if you feel the pull of another direction. This is your very spirit calling out to you.
While I understand the necessity for certain rules pertaining to safety and so forth, I do not believe in strict adherence to tradition in witchcraft. In fact, I feel that change is good and necessary as all things evolve we too should evolve with it. Life in general is a constant ebb and flow of change and this pertains to witchcraft as well. If you find a better way or a better herb or more effective magickal tool for use in your spell then use it even if it is not “traditional”. Everyone is a unique individual with his or her own mind, thoughts and desires. My mind does not think like yours and yours does not think like mine. It is important to know that all things begin and end in the mind. Your mindset. perceptions, ideas and beliefs are the things that form who you are as a person. And this is what makes your craft individual to you and mine to me.
Now all of that being said, I do believe that there are certain instances when tradition becomes a necessity in that it is demanded by certain ancient entities. This however, is another very long complicated subject all together. So I shall save it for future topics.
Do not allow someone to tell you that something you are doing in your craft is wrong simply because they do not agree with the material you choose to use. Consider this: even plastic is derived from nature. Every single thing that is or will be inevitably finds its core being deeply rooted in that which is natural. One thing is simply more natural than another but it does not mean that the more natural item is more effective in your work, especially if the less natural item resonates in your spirit. I do agree that it is important to be mindful of the environment but reusing plastics, for example, in your spell work is ultimately a form of recycling and reusing and quite often for the greater good at that.
In addition to spells another big part of my craft is divination. I love many forms of divination. Especially tarot and oracle cards. It was my daughter who first introduced me to the use of cards around ten years ago. At that time I did not realize what a huge intrical part of my life and craft they would become. Pendulums are great for quick yes or no questions. That is how I use pendulums and I realize some people use them more in depthly than that, but I do not. I do a lot of divination in candle wax and fire flames and smoke as well. I like scrying and sometimes use runes. Runes are another item that I make and sell in my store and I can make a custom set out of resin, crystals, glitter, flowers and or mica powder.
When I was very young (in my late teens to mid twenties) and before I even claimed the title of “ witch”, I used ouija or spirit boards quite often because I was greatly intrigued by its mystery and revelled in its accuracy. I was greatly into palmistry, numerology and western astrology. I am almost 50 years old now and I love ouija boards but rarely use them for anything more than a table because for me, I have found better, more effective tools. I can, but never do read palms anymore because now I realize that you can learn more from a person simply by reading them as a whole and by listening to the thoughts and ideas they hold reveals a great deal about their future. The eyes, gestures, expressions, energy, words, tone and aura of a person are far more revealing than looking at one hand. I still use and believe in numerology but my focus is elsewhere these days and only use it in conjunction to and with other forms of divination. I no longer believe in western astrology and this was the biggest thing for me to come to terms with because western astrology was the first occult-like practice I was interested in and began very early in adolescence. Now I study vedic astrology. I credit my son for his persistence in opening my mind to the vedic practice of astrology as I was not keen on the idea that this that I had been studying for so many years (western astrology) was at its very core sorely incomplete in its accuracy. But my mind is wide open and eager to learn. Vedic astrology helped me to understand myself and others around me better and has helped me to grow as a person. It is important that a person be able and willing to change his or her mind when shown a greater truth.
I strive daily to become a better person. The person that I was always meant to be. I believe it is important to stay true to yourself and to stand up for what you believe in but not to impose your beliefs on others. I believe in standing up for those that have been severely wronged by another but to also realize that there are two sides to every story. Too often the real truth becomes corrupt through perception, selfish desire, inability to empathize with another and or out and out misrepresentation. I am constantly open to new ideas and incorporate them into my life and craft which are one and the same. It is important to remain positive and to conscientiously always be considerate of others. It is important to be, at the very least, tolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others even if you do not agree with them. I know that we are all on separate journeys that intertwine, intersect, mingle for a moment and sometimes end and some of us have paths that are more difficult than that of another so we mustn't judge. We are all different and have different gifts and talents and it is this that makes life most interesting. I see magick everywhere and in everything. I understand that things happen in life that defy logic and often even that which has a logical explanation can in fact, be a supernatural occurrence. I love life and see everyday as a beautiful miracle to be cherished, embraced and accepted and this is who I am.
